Study
Use Register Study from the left sidebar and select the correct Project ID. A study is a specific scientific investigation or dataset within a project.
Temporary Study ID
After submitting this form, IMDA will assign a temporary Study ID in the format TEMP_IMS_XX.
Study Details

| Title* | Descriptive title of the specific investigation or dataset. | Include the organism or source, condition, and analytical approach where possible. The title should agree with the related manuscript title when applicable. |
| Study Type* | Analytical technique, such as Mass Spectrometry (MS) or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). | Select the technique used to generate the submitted data. |
| Data Type / Summary | Study design or data type, such as targeted, semi-targeted, or untargeted, plus a concise scientific summary. | Explain the objective, samples, comparison or treatment, analytical method, and data generated in 3-5 clear sentences. |
| Keywords | Terms that describe the study and help users find it. | Use 3-8 specific terms covering the organism, disease or condition, sample type, analytical method, and metabolite class where relevant. |
| Release Date* | Date on which the data can become publicly available. | Use the required portal date format. |
| Publication / Approval | DOI, PubMed ID, manuscript status, IEC/IBSC approval, or institutional approval number. | Enter official numbers exactly as issued. If not available, use the portal's allowed option. |
Submit and Continue
- Confirm the selected Project ID.
- Complete the study details and author list.
- Click Submit to register the study.
- Keep the temporary Study ID and select it when registering samples, experiments, and files.
Quality Check
Do not repeat the project title unless it accurately describes this specific study. Confirm that the summary, keywords, study type, data type, release date, and contributor details describe the same investigation.
